Displacement is the combined swept volume of all the cylinders, and it’s the figure riders use to sort bikes into size classes. Inside this one class, power, weight and character still differ widely. Those differences follow the number of cylinders, the state of tune and the type of bike.

When a bike here catches your eye, pin down the exact generation and model year first. Then go by its confirmed displacement, not the number in its model name: only the confirmed figure counts. Check how many cylinders it runs and how it’s tuned, since that’s where bikes in this class part ways. Scooters never make the list, whatever their size.

Every motorcycle below has an engine of 640 to 660cc from the factory, confirmed against manufacturer information. Where a trim or special edition shares it with the base bike, only the base bike is listed. A model that is missing here may still have it; it means we have not confirmed it yet.
