650TR (MY2014)
Budget Miles, Real Comfort
The Machine's Character
The 650TR is CFMOTO's entry ticket to sport-touring: a full fairing wrapped around a 649 cc liquid-cooled parallel twin, a steel trellis frame, a six-speed gearbox and chain drive. It makes 60 hp and 41 lb-ft, and it rolls on 17-inch wheels at both ends. The parts list reads better than you'd expect at this end of the market, with Bosch fuel injection, KYB suspension, J.Juan brakes and Koso instruments. What you won't find is a stack of rider aids: no traction control, no ride modes. This is a simple, value-first tourer, and that's the whole point of it. Cheap miles!
It's relaxed and flexible rather than fast, calm at highway speed and cheap to keep running. That makes it a good fit for newer riders and long-haul commuters who want a full fairing and somewhere to hang bags. The honest caveat: 60 hp pushing 485 lb (220 kg) is less than I expect from this class, and neither the fork nor the shock gives you any adjustment for a passenger or a full load. Age hasn't been kind to every example either. Tanks can rust from the inside, fuel gauges can lie, and throttle position sensors can quit early. Check before you buy.
