Displacement is the combined swept volume of all cylinders, and it’s the figure riders use to sort motorcycles into size classes. This list covers one of those classes. Don’t read too much into the number alone, though: power, weight and character still differ widely inside one class with the number of cylinders, the state of tune and the type of bike.

When a bike here interests you, pin down the exact generation and model year of the one you’re looking at. It counts by its confirmed displacement, not by the number in its model name. Then check how many cylinders it runs, how hard it’s tuned and what kind of bike it is. Scooters stay off this list, even with a matching engine size.

Every motorcycle below has an engine of 280 to 330cc from the factory, confirmed against manufacturer information. Where a trim or special edition shares it with the base bike, only the base bike is listed. A model that is missing here may still have it; it means we have not confirmed it yet.
