Displacement is the combined swept volume of all cylinders, and it’s the figure riders use to sort motorcycles into size classes. But the class only tells you so much: inside it, power, weight and character still differ widely with the number of cylinders, the state of tune and the type of bike. Twelve brands share this one, from CFMOTO and KTM to Royal Enfield and Yamaha.

When one of these bikes interests you, pin down the exact generation and model year of the one you’re looking at. Then check its confirmed displacement: a bike counts by that figure, not by the number in its model name. Scooters don’t make the list, and neither does any motorcycle whose confirmed displacement falls outside the range.

Every motorcycle below has an engine of 365 to 415cc from the factory, confirmed against manufacturer information. Where a trim or special edition shares it with the base bike, only the base bike is listed. A model that is missing here may still have it; it means we have not confirmed it yet.
