The Machine's Character
The FE 250 Heritage is Husqvarna's limited-edition take on its FE 250. It gets exclusive blue and yellow graphics and high-strength alloy wheels that celebrate the brand's Swedish racing heritage. The heritage part is the look. The hardware is the competition FE 250 platform. You get a liquid-cooled 250 cc DOHC single with 46 hp and 20 lb-ft at 8,000 rpm, a six-speed gearbox, a chromoly steel trellis frame and Brembo brakes that Husqvarna calls class-leading. Traction control comes standard, and both the fork and the shock are adjustable. A proper enduro in Sunday clothes.
On paper, this hardware is built for tight, technical going. It has 11.8 in (300 mm) of travel at both ends, 13.5 in (343 mm) of ground clearance and a 90/90-21 front tire with a 140/80-18 rear, so it's set up for roots, rocks and rutted singletrack. The 37.5 in (952 mm) seat marks it as a dedicated off-road tool. Husqvarna says the compact engine sits close to the center of gravity for agile handling. That points to a rider who would rather have a manageable four-stroke they can place precisely than a horsepower statement. If you also want to stand out at the trailhead, the livery handles that. Substance first, style on top.
