Scout Rogue (MY2023)

Blacked-Out Chopper Attitude

The Machine's Character

The Scout Rogue takes Indian's 1133 cc liquid-cooled 60° V-twin and wraps it in the least amount of motorcycle the company could get away with. Matte finishes, almost no bodywork, a bullet cowl over the headlight, 10-inch mini-apes, forward pegs. The 94 hp and 72 lb-ft is real output for a cruiser stripped this far back, and the aluminum perimeter frame underneath is a proper chassis rather than a styling exercise. It lands at the hooligan end of the cruiser class: chopper attitude, purist detailing, and a look that stays coherent from every angle.

It rides the way it looks, low and direct and unapologetically mechanical, with the V-twin's character left in rather than sanded off. Build quality is honest and the styling ages well, which matters on a bike owners keep and modify, and the aftermarket support behind it is deep. This is for the rider who wants presence and a little menace on a Saturday night run or a two-lane Sunday morning. The honest caveat is range and weather. With 3.3 gal (12.5 L) in the tank and nothing between you and the air, the day ends before your enthusiasm does.
