Honda NT1100 (MY2022) vs CMX1100 Rebel (MY2021-SEDCT)

Honda NT1100 vs CMX1100 Rebel: different classes, one choice. Here's how to make it.

Deep into a long day in the saddle, the Honda NT1100 is the one that's still in it. The Honda CMX1100 Rebel isn't built for that stretch, but at a crawl it settles low and turns tight. Your boots land flat at every stop.

So which one do you buy?

The NT1100 has the edge if…

Sporty riding on twisty roads

By a nose: NT1100

The NT1100 nudges ahead once the pavement starts to wiggle. Credit stronger brakes and better suspension. Don't expect a night-and-day difference.

The CMX1100 Rebel has the edge if…

Daily commuting & city riding

Small edge: CMX1100 Rebel

Through rush hour, the CMX1100 Rebel is a little easier to live with. Only a little.

What makes each one tick

NT1100

Tucked out of the wind, the NT1100 sits you upright on a seat that's wide enough to shift around on. There's legroom to spare at the pegs. The suspension soaks up tar seams and keeps the seat quiet.

CMX1100 Rebel

Behind the cruiser sheetmetal, the CMX1100 Rebel's twin spins up eagerly, and its crank pulses but doesn't shake like a V-twin. The twin's happiest chasing revs. Left in auto, the dual-clutch gearbox shifts so smoothly you'll barely notice the changes. Mid-corner, the paddles snap off clutchless downshifts.
