Haul Everything, Miss Nothing
The Road Glide Limited FLTRK is built around one decision: the shark-nose fairing is bolted to the frame, not the fork. Behind it sits an 1868 cc 45° V-twin, air and liquid cooled, making 120 lb-ft at 3,000 rpm through a six-speed box and a belt. Boom! Box GTS runs the screen, navigation and Apple CarPlay, and the luggage is part of the motorcycle rather than an accessory bolted on later. A 64.0 in wheelbase and 944 lb wet tell you the rest. This is full American luxury touring, and it makes no apology for the size that comes with it.
It wants steady pace and long days. The torque is there low enough that you stop hunting for gears, and the long chassis stays settled where wind and truck traffic would unsettle something shorter. It ages honestly if you stay on top of fluids and the belt, and the aftermarket depth means you can keep reshaping it around your own body for years. The caveat is plain: 944 lb is real weight at walking speed, and the front fork takes no adjustment of any kind, so only the rear shock lets you dial anything in for a passenger or a loaded bike.
Spec sheets don't ride bikes, but they set the baseline.

Years of listening feed this section: talk at fuel stops and rallies, owners who catch me after a demo day, questions at the service counter, and the notes that land in my inbox from people who ride one every week. For the Road Glide Limited those reports gather around a small number of points. Nearly all of the praise sits with the engine and with what the bike does over distance, and riders are just as direct about where it asks something back.
The Milwaukee-Eight 114 is where almost every conversation starts. Riders describe low-end thrust that shows up without being asked for, and they talk about the V-twin note as part of what they bought rather than a side effect, both of it aimed at relaxed touring rather than pace. The second cluster is distance. Owners keep returning to how settled the bike feels at highway speed with the fairing and tall windscreen doing the work, and they put the seating in the same bracket: high, wide bars, a well padded seat, and an upright posture that keeps fatigue off them through a full day.
Oil sumping on early 2020 models
Some 2020 Milwaukee-Eight 114 engines may experience oil sumping—excess oil accumulating in the crankcase—due to an earlier oil pump design. This can cause reduced performance and potential engine damage if unaddressed. The issue was generally resolved with an updated pump around 2021.

Forget spec-sheet bragging. Here's who the Touring Road Glide Limited FLTRK is actually built for.
Sound, presence and a bike that looks right parked outside a rally bar: it delivers all of that, and then carries you a thousand miles home afterward without asking for a break every hour.
Made for Florida State Road A1A · Black Hills · Main Street, Daytona Beach
Two-up and loaded is exactly where this makes sense. Stability, weather protection and luggage are all there. Plan fuel around 6.0 gal and expect to work for it in tight parking lots.
Made for Beartooth Highway · Blue Ridge Parkway · Going-to-the-Sun Road
It will run a Blue Ridge day happily at a flowing pace, but 944 lb never pretends to be light. If you want to change direction quickly and often, this is the wrong shape of motorcycle.

Any price note compares both bikes at the same age — the youngest age both have on the used market — against this Harley-Davidson Touring Road Glide Limited FLTRK. “cheaper/pricier” is what that bike costs second-hand, not how worn it is.
