XMAX 125 (MY2010)

TMAX Presence at 125cc Scale

The Machine's Character

The XMAX 125 is a commuter scooter dressed up as something bigger. Yamaha gave it styling borrowed from its own TMAX, a steel tube frame, a 60.8 in (1,545 mm) wheelbase and big-scooter wheels: a 15-inch front and a 14-inch rear. The engine is a liquid-cooled 125 cc single making 8 lb-ft at 6,500 rpm, and a belt drives the rear wheel. The real headline sits under the seat, though: room for two full-face helmets. That's the deal!

On paper, this hardware is built for the daily run in and around town. The spec sheet lists a 65 mph (105 km/h) top speed, so its home is city streets, suburban roads and back roads, not long stretches of fast interstate. The rest of the numbers point the same way: 84 mpg, a 3.1 gal (11.8 L) tank and a 30.5 in (775 mm) seat height. Add a riding position laid out for comfort and protection on longer commutes, and the target is clear. It's for the rider who commutes every day and wants the scooter to look like more than transport. Practical first, stylish second.

Hard Numbers

Spec sheets don't ride bikes, but they set the baseline.
