300 EXC SIX DAYS (MY2023)

Two-Stroke Enduro At Its Limit

The Machine's Character

The 300 EXC SIX DAYS is KTM's competition two-stroke in its ISDE dress. A 293 cc liquid-cooled single with throttle body injection sits in a steel double cradle frame, and the fueling gives it broad, tractable drive instead of one narrow hit. 55 hp in a package this light puts it at the sharp end of the enduro class. The SIX DAYS build adds the details that actually matter on a hard day: premium WP suspension that adjusts at both ends without tools, a map switch on the bars, electric start, and the graphics. This is a competition bike first.

On the trail its character shows up immediately. It wants to be worked, not cruised. The power is broad enough to crawl a rocky step at walking pace, and it keeps pulling when you short-shift and lug it. It ages like race hardware: stay on the maintenance and it stays tight, ignore it and you will know. This one is for experienced off-road riders who seek out technical ground on purpose. The honest caveat is that it's a specialist. The 2.4 gal (9 L) tank sets the length of your day, there's no ABS or traction control under you, and the bike expects a rider who already knows what to do with it.

If this one isn't quite the fit, these are the bikes worth riding back-to-back against it.

Any price note compares both bikes at the same age — the youngest age both have on the used market — against this KTM 300 EXC SIX DAYS. “cheaper/pricier” is what that bike costs second-hand, not how worn it is.
