So which one do you buy?

The F4 Claudio has the edge if…

Daily commuting & city riding

A touch ahead: F4 Claudio

On the way to work, the F4 Claudio asks a little less of you. Credit friendlier manners and a smaller footprint. Close enough that the test ride should settle it.

The Brutale 1000 has the edge if…

Racetrack use

Inches ahead: Brutale 1000

For track days, the Brutale 1000 comes out a touch ahead. What tips it: more suspension adjustment. Your setup and tires matter just as much.

Sporty riding on twisty roads

Nose ahead: Brutale 1000

The Brutale 1000 nudges ahead once the pavement starts to wiggle. It's down to better suspension. Don't expect a night-and-day difference.

What makes each one tick

F4 Claudio

Up high in the rev range, the F4 Claudio's short-stroke four turns feral, and its intake honk piles onto the exhaust's howl. The throttle sends the tach needle flying. On a smooth track, the Öhlins fork and TTX36 shock report every ripple while you're placing the bike to the inch. The quad exhausts scream all the way up.

Brutale 1000

There's a relentless surge waiting near the redline of the Brutale 1000's four, and its howl climbs right along with it. Down low, the throttle's snatchy. A hard squeeze of the brake lever from speed brings in the Brembos while the trellis frame stays rock-solid. The trellis frame carves a sweeper like it's on rails.
