Primavera Elettrica (MY2024)

Pure Vespa, Zero Exhaust

The Machine's Character

The Primavera Elettrica is a Vespa first and an electric vehicle second. You get the classic steel body and the lines everyone recognizes, wrapped around an air-cooled electric motor with a single-speed drive, rated at 4 hp and 148 lb-ft. Those two numbers tell you where it belongs: off the line, in town. The lithium battery is removable, there's practical storage under the seat, and ride modes, a keyless system and an LED headlight are standard. A TFT display and navigation are on the options list. The fork is non-adjustable, but you can set preload on the rear shock. In its class this is the elegant choice. And it's no ornament.

Inside the city it's as light and accessible as scooters get, and cheap to run. That's the rational half of the argument. The other half is how it ages. Real-world range can drop noticeably after 9 to 12 months of daily city use, and charging slows in the cold. The motor and controller are a sealed unit that isn't designed for service: if it fails, dealers often lack the know-how and the parts, and downtime gets long. There's no ABS or traction control either. With 4 hp, this is a city scooter for short trips and style-conscious riders. Keep it there.

    electrics occasional

Some owners report a noticeable reduction in real-world range after approximately 9-12 months of daily city use, along with slower charging in cold conditions.
