City Grace With iGET Soul

The Machine's Character

The GTS 125 Touring iGET takes Vespa's most recognizable shape and builds it around a steel monocoque body. That body gives the scooter a premium, stable feel, and it's the heart of this generation's appeal. The liquid-cooled 125 cc single makes 14 hp and 9 lb-ft, and it's tuned for efficiency rather than drama. The Touring kit is what defines this version: a rear luggage rack and a plusher seat. ABS, a USB charging port and adjustable rear suspension come standard. Yes, it's a style object first. But it's set up to work every single day. Real substance!

In the city it's completely at home. It turns tight, slips through gaps, parks anywhere and asks almost nothing of you. At 94 mpg it's cheap to run, too. As it ages, you have to pay attention. The brake calipers can corrode and seize, so keep them clean and inspected. The variator and belt wear out past about 6,200 mi (10,000 km). Fuel pump failures and a lean-mixture check engine light are known faults as well. The honest caveat: 14 hp is a city number. This scooter is for the urban commuter who wants character on the daily run, not for anyone planning freeway miles. Know that going in.

Known issues

  • Rusted or seized brake caliper

Corrosion can cause caliper pistons to seize, leading to uneven braking or dragging; regular inspection and cleaning are recommended.

  • Variator and belt wear

    drivetrain occasional

Jerky acceleration and slipping can occur at higher mileage (over 6,200 mi (10,000 km)) due to variator or drive belt wear; requires periodic replacement.

  • Fuel pump failure

    fuel system rare

Some owners have reported sudden fuel pump defects leading to starting issues; may require pump replacement.

    fuel system occasional

Some owners report a check engine light with a lean mixture code appearing after riding, possibly related to the fuel system or sensor.

Best scooter for NYC?

This one is built for you. It slips through dense traffic, parks anywhere, gets 94 mpg and carries your bag on the rack. Keep the calipers clean and set money aside for a belt and variator later.

Best motorcycle for Bay Area?

Around town and at the café meetup it looks the part and rides with ease. On the ridge roads, 14 hp keeps things gentle. Treat it as a stylish runabout, not your weekend curve machine.
