SH350i (NF11)

The Big-Wheel City Workhorse

The Machine's Character

The SH350i is Honda's answer to a simple question: how much scooter do you really need to cover the city and the freeway with one machine? The answer is a 330 cc liquid-cooled single with 29 hp and 23 lb-ft, hung in an underbone frame with belt final drive. ABS and traction control are standard, and so are keyless ignition, a USB charging port and an LED headlight. Nothing here is built to impress on a spec sheet. It's built to make your weekday shorter, and that's exactly why it sits at the premium end of the step-through class. Typical Honda!

On the road it puts smooth power delivery and stability ahead of aggression, and that's the right call for a machine that lives between traffic lights and on-ramps. It's easy to handle and cheap to run at 71 mpg, with carrying capacity to match. It's for you if you want a daily tool that also holds its own on fast freeways. The honest caveat is the electrical side: keyless ignition loads the battery hard, and cold-start idle hunting and stalling are known issues on this generation. Keep a charger handy.

Known issues

  • Engine stalling issues

    engine occasional

    The engine stalls unexpectedly.

  • Cold start hesitation in automatic transmission

    drivetrain occasional

The automatic transmission hesitates during cold starts.

  • Throttle body idle issues causing rough running

    fuel system occasional

Throttle body issues lead to hunting idle, stalling, and rough running during cold starts.

  • Front fork seal leaks

    suspension occasional

Front fork seals weep fluid prematurely, particularly on bikes ridden aggressively.

  • Smart key recognition failure

    electrics occasional

The ignition dial will not turn and a key icon flashes because the system cannot recognize the key fob, often following heavy rain or with a depleted fob battery.

  • Hot start refusal due to heat soak

    engine occasional

The engine is stubborn or refuses to start when fully hot following extended rides until allowed to cool down.

  • Battery drain from charging system

    electrics occasional

The battery drains due to an inadequate charging system.

  • Corroded exhaust headers in coastal areas

    exhaust occasional

Rust flaking, bluing, or pitting develops near exhaust header joints, particularly on bikes in coastal environments.
