Porsche Power, Blacked-Out Attitude
The VRSCB is the darkened take on Harley's liquid-cooled power cruiser, and it reads differently from anything else wearing the bar and shield. The Revolution 60-degree V-twin runs 1131 cc, makes 115 hp and 74 lb-ft, and it wants revs instead of lazy lugging. Everything around it is stretched long and low: 67.5 in of wheelbase, a 26.0 in seat, a fat 180/55-18 rear under a slim 120/70-19 front. Five speeds, belt final drive, dark finishes where most cruisers pile on chrome. A drag-strip silhouette with real engineering under it.
That geometry pays off in a straight line. It tracks flat and settled at highway speed, and the low seat lets you plant both feet at a stop despite the mass, which is what makes it livable day to day. This is the bike for a rider who wants Harley presence without an engine that runs out of ideas above 4,000 rpm. The honest part: there is no ABS and no traction control, the fork offers no adjustment at all (only the shock takes preload), and 3.7 gal does not buy much road between fuel stops. Plan around that and it ages well.

Twenty-odd years of listening go into this. Riders catching me between sessions, owners at rallies who want to talk before the helmet is off, club nights where the conversation never quite gets off the subject, and the messages that arrive months later once somebody has actually lived with one. On the VRSCB the pattern holds steady: trust in the machine grows the longer people own it, and nearly every complaint traces back to distance and body position rather than to the bike itself.
Durability is the first thing long-term owners raise. Odometers climb into serious territory without the Revolution powertrain causing trouble, and the same riders credit the general standard of assembly for part of that. Cornering behavior is the next constant, and it usually arrives as a correction. People expect a stretched chassis with a laid-back fork to argue about direction changes, then find it drops into a bend on command and holds its line as the pace rises. The engine has its own following for pulling evenly instead of flattening off, still climbing at 5,000 rpm, and doing it without shaking anyone's hands loose. Fewer riders bring up the brakes, but those who do say the same thing: real stopping power, and it stays there when leaned on. The drag-strip look, aluminum bodywork and solid wheels included, keeps its own admirers inside the range.
Range dominates the gripes. The tank is small enough that owners build the day around stops rather than deciding on the fly. Behind that sits cornering clearance: raise the pace and something touches down, with right handers named more often than left. Wind comes up from riders who spend time at speed, where nothing shields them and the forward pegs leave their legs hanging out in it. Those same pegs draw ergonomic complaints of their own, from riders who lack the inseam to reach them comfortably and from anyone whose lower back keeps score across a long day. Resale is the quietest thread but a persistent one. Owners say these drop in value quicker than the rest of the lineup.
Triple sprocket bolt loosening
The triple sprocket bolt (crankshaft pulley bolt) may back out, potentially causing engine damage. Checking and retorquing periodically is advised.
Fuel gauge malfunction
The fuel level sender or gauge may fail, giving inaccurate readings. Replacing the sender unit usually resolves the issue.
Wheel corrosion
Some owners report premature corrosion of the alloy disc wheels, particularly on early models. Warranty replacements were sometimes provided.
