Milwaukee's Liquid-Cooled Street Fighter
Harley built the Street Rod around the Revolution engine, and that one decision shapes everything else about it. The 1131 cc liquid-cooled 60° V-twin makes 119 hp at 8,250 rpm and 80 lb-ft at 7,000 rpm, so the meat of it lives high in the rev range rather than down at idle. Around that sits an inverted fork, a 120/70-19 front paired with a 180/55-18 rear, and a belt running back from a five-speed box. What you get is a muscle bike wearing cruiser clothes, good for 144 mph, with genuine chassis intent behind the Milwaukee badge.
It ages the way well-screwed-together metal does: the finish holds up, the mechanicals feel honest, and there's enough aftermarket support to make one your own years down the line. This is the bike for a rider who wants Harley identity without the slow-revving script, and who rides more than he polishes. The honest caveat is the era it comes from. There's no ABS and no traction control, the fork offers no adjustment at all (the rear shock takes preload), and 5.0 gallons at 31 mpg keeps the days between fuel stops short.
Spec sheets don't ride bikes, but they set the baseline.

Chassis
This section belongs to the riders, not to me. It's what I've gathered over the years from paddock conversations, owners catching me at events, club-night talk, and the messages that land in my inbox from people living with one. On the Street Rod the same few points come back over and over, and the praise outweighs the gripes.
Braking dominates. Owners describe stopping power that arrives hard and doesn't fade on them, and few expected it here. The engine earns the same weight of comment for how freely it climbs the rev range and how smooth it stays up there. Riders also bring up cornering that goes beyond what the stance promises, and a look that people still stop to ask about.
The gripes are just as steady. Riders on a 2005 bike put range first, about 137 miles between stops, and it shapes how a day out gets planned. The bigger 2006 tank closed that off, and later owners say so. The seat comes next, thin and low enough that a couple of hours is all most want from it. Low-speed weight rounds it out: owners mention the effort it takes to move the bike around at walking pace.
2006 VRSCR heat shield recall
Certain 2006 VRSCR models built before February 16, 2006 were recalled because the heat shield could contact the rider's leg, posing a burn risk. NHTSA campaign 07V-303.
Rear brake switch heat damage
The plastic housing of the rear brake switch (part 72025-06) sits too close to the exhaust and can melt, causing fluid leaks and brake failure. Replacing it preemptively is recommended.
Front brake disc warping
Several owners report warped front rotors causing vibration under braking. Harley-Davidson replaced them under warranty in some cases, but the issue can recur.
Fuel gauge inaccuracy
The fuel gauge is prone to giving false readings, leaving riders unsure of remaining range. Some owners opt to monitor miles manually.
Wheel corrosion on early models
Some owners of early Street Rods reported corrosion on aluminum wheels within the first year; wheels were replaced by dealers under warranty.

Forget spec-sheet bragging. Here's who the V-Rod Street Rod VRSCR is actually built for.
You get the badge, the presence, and a bike people walk over to look at. Just know the sound and the power delivery run tighter and higher than the big-twin rhythm your crowd expects.
Made for Florida State Road A1A · Black Hills · Main Street, Daytona Beach
Small towns and old routes suit it, and nothing else in the parking lot looks like this. Range is the limit: 5.0 gallons at 31 mpg, with a gauge you can't fully trust.
Made for Park Loop Road · Handbuilt Motorcycle Show · Blue Ridge Parkway
It's stable and calm at highway speed, but there's no cruise control, no luggage, and roughly 155 miles between fills. Good for a long weekend, thin for loaded two-up weeks.
Made for Beartooth Highway · Blue Ridge Parkway · Going-to-the-Sun Road
If this one isn't quite the fit, these are the bikes worth riding back-to-back against it.
