500 DSX (MY2023)

Stable Miles, Minimal Spend

The Machine's Character

The 500 DSX is Voge's answer to a simple question: how much real adventure bike can you get without paying for a badge? The heart of it is a 471 cc liquid-cooled parallel twin making 47 hp and 33 lb-ft, driving through a 6-speed gearbox and a chain. It rolls on a proper 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear, and ABS is standard. None of that is exotic. What matters is that it comes together as a grown-up package that doesn't look or feel like the cheap option. In the small ADV class, that's the bar a Voge has to clear, and this one clears it.

On the road it's calm and easy to live with. It stays settled at highway speed, steers without drama and gets 62 mpg, so it costs very little to run. That makes it a smart pick for riders stepping up to their first adventure bike and for anyone who wants long days on a sensible budget. The honest caveat is off-road ability. It has 6.6 in (168 mm) of ground clearance. Graded gravel and forest roads are fine. Rutted, rocky trails are not.
