690 Rally (MY2027)

The Single-Cylinder Rally Raider

The Machine's Character

The 690 Rally is KTM's single-cylinder take on the long-distance off-road bike. KTM builds it on the 690 Enduro R platform: a 693 cc liquid-cooled LC4 single with 79 hp and 54 lb-ft, a steel trellis frame and a self-supporting rear tank that doubles as the subframe. What sets it apart is the rally hardware on top: a rally tower with integrated windshield, 5.3 gal (20 L) of fuel, and WP XPLOR suspension with 10.4 in (265 mm) of travel up front and 9.8 in (250 mm) at the rear. Cornering ABS, traction control, ride modes and a TFT with navigation are standard. KTM calls it a return to its Rally Raid roots. The spec sheet agrees.

Read the numbers and the purpose is obvious: a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear on spoked wheels, 10.4 in (265 mm) of ground clearance, and an Offroad ABS mode that KTM says frees the rear wheel while keeping front-wheel assistance. This is hardware built for long dirt stages linked by fast road sections, and KTM claims the tower reduces fatigue on exactly those. On paper it points to you if you ride off-road with intent and want range and wind protection from a single. The 36.8 in (935 mm) seat isn't adjustable, so that's the height you get. Cruise control and a quickshifter are options. No soft all-rounder here!
