F 450 RR (MY2027)

The Pocket-Size Precision Instrument

The Machine's Character

The F 450 RR is BMW's entry point into its RR range, and the spec sheet reads like a scaled-down version of the brand's sport philosophy. A 420 cc liquid-cooled parallel twin makes 48 hp at 8,750 rpm and 32 lb-ft at 6,750 rpm. BMW says 80 percent of peak torque is there from 3,000 rpm. The engine is a stressed member of a welded steel trellis frame, with a 43 mm KYB upside-down fork and a directly linked KYB shock. Standard equipment includes lean-angle ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control, traction control, wheelie control and Rain, Road and Race modes. That's a serious kit list for this class!

On paper, this hardware is built for riders who want to learn real supersport technique without being buried in horsepower. At 390 lb (177 kg) wet, with a 55.3 in (1,405 mm) wheelbase and a 31.1 in (790 mm) seat, it's compact and approachable. BMW says the chassis geometry is tuned for both road and track, and the shift pattern can be reversed for racetrack use. The everyday side counts too: heated grips, a TFT display with navigation, a 3.7 gal (14 L) tank and BMW's claimed range of more than 217 mi (350 km). It's a small bike for a rider who means business. Grown-up and sharp.

A winding two-lane asphalt road in the Appalachian mountains, photographed in dry daylight. Yellow double-center line markings guide through a series of tight left-hand curves. Dense deciduous and evergreen forest flanks both sides; a rock cut is visible on the right. The road surface and geometry suggest a technical, high-traffic riding corridor popular with motorcyclists.
