VARG SM (MY2026)
Electric Supermoto, Zero Compromise
The Machine's Character
The VARG SM takes Stark's electric VARG platform and puts it on 17-inch street rubber. Two numbers explain the appeal: 80 hp against a wet weight of just 274 lb (124 kg). Very few road bikes of any kind can match that power-to-weight ratio. A liquid-cooled electric motor drives a single-speed gearbox and a chain, so the whole job comes down to your right hand. The steel tube frame carries fully adjustable suspension at both ends. The cockpit is a TFT with navigation, smartphone connectivity and selectable ride modes. It looks and feels like nothing else in the supermoto class.
On a tight road it is light on its feet, and its lean clearance simply does not run out. Routine maintenance is minimal. It suits the rider who wants the most fun per mile and lives within easy reach of good corners. The caveats are real, though. Real-world range is roughly 50 mi (81 km), the 36.8 in (935 mm) seat is tall, and there is no ABS or traction control. The VARG platform it shares also has a documented record of powertrain, VCU, battery and water pump problems. Buy it with your eyes open.

Known issues
-
Early electrical/powertrain reliability concerns
Reports from Varg MX and EX owners include powertrain unit failures, VCU (Vehicle Control Unit) replacements, battery issues, and occasional water pump failures. While the SM is new, it shares the same electric powertrain architecture and may be susceptible to similar problems, particularly in early production batches.
-
Wider turning radius due to triple clamp design
The splayed-out triple clamp spacing increases the turning radius, reducing maneuverability in tight spaces.
