Scrambler 1200 X Icon Edition (MY2025)

Scrambler Style Dialed In

The Machine's Character

The Icon Edition runs for a single model year, and Triumph spent its effort where this bike earns its keep: an Aluminium Silver and Sapphire Black tank carrying hand-painted coach lines and the Edwardian gold 1907 script. Underneath sits the 1200 cc liquid-cooled parallel twin, 89 hp with 81 lb-ft arriving at 4,250 rpm, managed by ride-by-wire throttle maps with ride modes, traction control and ABS behind them. The 21-inch front wheel, steel tube frame and 6.7 in (170 mm) of travel at both ends give it genuine scrambler geometry instead of a naked bike wearing boots.

This is a motorcycle bought with the eyes and kept for its character. Build quality is good enough that the finish should still read right after a few winters, and aftermarket support is deep, so most owners end up shaping the bike into their own version of it. It suits the rider who wants unhurried back-road miles, a machine worth looking back at, and gravel roads taken at a sensible pace. The honest caveat: 503 lb (228 kg) wet is real weight when the surface goes loose, the fork takes no adjustment at all, and most of the touring kit sits on the options list.

Alternatives to the Triumph Scrambler 1200 X Icon Edition

If this one isn't quite the fit, these are the bikes worth riding back-to-back against it.

Any price note compares both bikes at the same age — the youngest age both have on the used market — against this Triumph Scrambler 1200 X Icon Edition. “cheaper/pricier” is what that bike costs second-hand, not how worn it is.
