Speed Twin 1200 Cafe Racer Edition (MY2026)

Purist Style, Numbered Soul

The Machine's Character

Retro isn't old, and this bike proves it. The Cafe Racer Edition takes the Speed Twin 1200 RS platform and commits fully to the 1960s British look: clip-on bars, a solo brown bullet seat with a removable cowl, bar-end mirrors, Competition Green and Aluminium Silver paint. Underneath sits serious hardware. The 1200 cc High Power Bonneville twin makes 104 hp and 83 lb-ft, the Marzocchi fork and Öhlins twin shocks are fully adjustable, and Brembo Stylema calipers grip 12.6 in (320 mm) discs. Cornering ABS, traction control, ride modes and an up-and-down quickshifter are standard. Only 800 exist worldwide, each with a numbered certificate. Style with substance.

On the road it's a backroad bike with a show-bike finish: sharp reflexes, sticky Metzeler Racetec RR K3 tires and a twin whose torque peaks at 4,250 rpm, right where you actually ride. It's for you if you want the café-racer feeling with modern function behind it, and if you'd rather own one of 800 than blend in. The numbered certificate gives it real collector appeal, and the aftermarket for this platform is huge. The honest caveat: it's a committed machine. The riding position is tucked, the seat is for one, the tank holds 3.8 gal (14.4 L), and cruise control and heated grips cost extra. Know that going in.

An elevated view of a deep autumn canyon, likely Big Cottonwood Canyon, Utah. Steep rocky cliff faces and forested mountain ridges frame a narrow valley where a winding two-lane road passes below. Deciduous trees display full autumn color — gold, orange, and amber — interspersed with green conifers on the steep slopes. A single dark vehicle is visible far below on the road. Snow-dusted mountain peaks rise in the background under a partly cloudy sky.

A scenic view of Angeles Crest Highway winding through rugged Southern California canyon terrain. Rocky mountainsides with golden earth tones frame the asphalt road with tight sweeping curves. Double yellow center line visible, sparse vegetation along the shoulders, clear blue sky with white clouds. Daylight, dry conditions. Iconic location for canyon-road enthusiasts.

Best retro motorcycle for road trips?

You'll love how it looks parked in any small town. But clip-ons, a solo seat and a 3.8 gal (14.4 L) tank make it a short-stage bike, with no luggage system. Pack light and plan your stops.
