Retro Soul, Modern Bones

The Machine's Character

This is the Bonneville in its purest form: a 900 cc liquid-cooled parallel twin in a steel double-cradle frame, wrapped in styling that leans hard on the 1960s. The numbers aren't the point. Peak power is 54 hp at 5,900 rpm, while the full 59 lb-ft is already there at 3,230 rpm, which tells you where this 'High Torque' engine wants to live. The tech list is short and sensible: fuel injection, ABS, traction control and a USB port, all standard. That's the T100's place in its class: classic design up front, modern hardware working underneath. Retro done properly.

On paper, everything points to accessibility. The seat sits at 31.1 in (790 mm), the 100/90-18 front tire and 57.1 in (1,450 mm) wheelbase are proper classic proportions, and the five-speed gearbox keeps things simple. A 3.8 gal (14.5 L) tank points to relaxed stints between small-town stops, not marathon days. The rear suspension takes preload adjustment, and Triumph offers cruise control, heated grips and luggage as options. On top of that, the aftermarket potential is big. This bike is built for you if you want the real classic look with modern hardware underneath. Style plus credibility.

An elevated view of a deep autumn canyon, likely Big Cottonwood Canyon, Utah. Steep rocky cliff faces and forested mountain ridges frame a narrow valley where a winding two-lane road passes below. Deciduous trees display full autumn color — gold, orange, and amber — interspersed with green conifers on the steep slopes. A single dark vehicle is visible far below on the road. Snow-dusted mountain peaks rise in the background under a partly cloudy sky.

The 'Should I Buy It?' Score

Forget spec-sheet bragging. Here's who the Bonneville T100 is actually built for.

A scenic view of Angeles Crest Highway winding through rugged Southern California canyon terrain. Rocky mountainsides with golden earth tones frame the asphalt road with tight sweeping curves. Double yellow center line visible, sparse vegetation along the shoulders, clear blue sky with white clouds. Daylight, dry conditions. Iconic location for canyon-road enthusiasts.

Best cruiser for Sturgis?

A good match if heritage and identity are what drive you. Just know what you're buying: a purist British classic with a parallel twin, not a chopper-style cruiser or a bagger.
