Bentley's V4 Rolling Art
The Diavel for Bentley is a Diavel V4 wearing a coachbuilt suit. Underneath sits the 1158 cc V4, 168 hp at 10,750 rpm and 93 lb-ft at 7,500 rpm, carried in an aluminum monocoque with a 240-section rear tire and a 62.7 in wheelbase. Ducati built 500 numbered bikes plus 50 in Mulliner spec, so this is a collector's run rather than a showroom regular. Design and presence score at the very top of my scale here, and the hardware behind the paint is the real thing: Brembo Stylema calipers, adjustable suspension at both ends, the full rider-aid package.
It rides better than the spec sheet threatens. The ride-by-wire power modes, wheelie control and cornering ABS let you use all 168 hp without a fight, and because both ends are adjustable from the factory you can dial it to your weight instead of living with someone else's compromise. This one is for the rider who has already owned fast things and now wants one that means something parked in the garage. The honest caveat: 492 lb wet, chain final drive and that 240 rear add up to a fair-weather machine with a real appetite for maintenance. Ridden that way, it ages beautifully.
Spec sheets don't ride bikes, but they set the baseline.

Braking
This is not my test ride. It is what I have picked up over years of listening: paddock talk, owner conversations at club nights, and the messages riders send me directly. On this bike the chatter splits cleanly. The people who ride it talk about the engine and the exclusivity, and almost everyone else talks about the price.
The loudest thread is the V4 itself. Riders describe explosive acceleration and a soundtrack they bring up unprompted. Just as often the talk turns to ownership rather than riding: the unique paint, the carbon work and the luxury detailing make this a collector's piece in their eyes. Two more points recur. The electronics package, cornering ABS, traction and wheelie control, riding modes, gets credit for keeping the performance usable. And the handling surprises people. Despite the cruiser dimensions, riders call it agile and easy to trust.
Price dominates. At $70,000 most riders dismiss it before anything else, and even admirers question the value. Weight is the next theme, felt at low speed and in tight corners. A smaller group mentions practicality, with the fat 240 rear tire and cruiser ergonomics cutting into long distances.
Oil sight glass failure
Reports of the oil sight glass caving in or leaking, causing sudden oil loss that can contaminate the rear tire and pose a safety risk.
Notchy clutch feel when hot
Clutch lever develops an intermittent notchy or inconsistent feel once engine temperature reaches ~208°F (98°C), particularly during the initial pull.

Forget spec-sheet bragging. Here's who the Diavel for Bentley is actually built for.
This is not your track tool and I will not pretend otherwise. Buy it as the road bike that lives beside the track bike, for the days you want presence and noise instead of lap work.
Made for WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca · Barber Motorsports Park · Circuit of The Americas
It corners far better than a 240-section rear has any right to, but it rewards flow over aggression. On Angeles Crest it is fast, loud, and still comfortable on the ride back into traffic.
Made for Angeles Crest Highway · Coronado Trail Scenic Byway · Big Sur Coast Highway
Flowing Blue Ridge miles suit it. The tightest, most repetitive stuff makes you work for every direction change at 492 lb, so it sharpens your inputs rather than hiding them.
Made for Tail of the Dragon · Back of the Dragon · Blue Ridge Parkway
