SX-E 5 (MY2025)

The Silent Pint-Sized Racer

The Machine's Character

The SX-E 5 is a real motocross bike for kids, built at a small scale, and that's why it matters. A liquid-cooled electric motor makes 7 hp at 3,900 rpm and 10 lb-ft of torque. Ride modes let a parent set how much of that a young rider gets, so the bike can stay mild in the first season and open up as skill grows. The chassis parts come from KTM's racing catalog: a WP XACT upside-down air fork with 8.1 in (205 mm) of travel, an adjustable shock with 7.6 in (193 mm), and 10.2 in (259 mm) of ground clearance. A basic play bike doesn't come with any of that.

The adjustable seat height keeps it useful for several seasons before your kid needs something bigger. The suspension handles jumps and rough ground properly, so a kid learns real dirt-bike technique instead of habits a toy teaches. With no gas engine there's far less upkeep, and it's quiet enough that neighbors don't turn into enemies. My honest caveat: the battery can drop into limp mode mid-race once the charge falls below 50%. For a young racer that means a race day built around charging, not just a full tank and a gas can.
